Health & Safety Policy Statement.

OVERVIEW
While Wendell Group willingly recognises and accepts its moral and legal obligation to provide a safe place of work and safe systems of work, it is a fundamental belief of the organisation that this is a ‘shared’ responsibility.

Wendell will always ensure our business activities comply with relevant Health and Safety Legislation, Standards, Codes of Practice and recognised ‘Industry best Practice’ procedures.

Company Management will ensure practical and effective measures are in place to protect both the Health, Safety and Environment of our employees, contractors and all visitors.

COMMITMENT
Wendell is totally committed to providing services, which meet the needs of both our customers and our business while at the same time demanding of our-selves the highest Health & Safety, Ethical, Quality and Environmental Standards.

We will ensure that Health and Safety conformance and Environmental conservation is co-ordinated at senior levels and accepted by all staff as fundamental personal responsibilities.

Management will endeavour to provide the appropriate time, training, resources and encouragement to staff involved in the on-going development and implementation of Wendell Health, Safety and Environmental protection systems.

Management is committed to supporting a process of on-going consultation and dialogue among all staff as an integral part of the Health and Safety decision-making process.

COMMUNICATIONS
Wendell recognises that effective communication practices are of paramount importance and has developed procedures to ensure good communication throughout the organisation.

RESPONSIBILITY
It is the responsibility of all Employees and Contractors to recognise and accept the dual right and obligation to take responsibility for their own safety and the safety of those around them.

All Management and Employees have a Health and Safety component in their job descriptions and conformance to this component will be assessed in a yearly Performance Review.

EMPLOYEE PARTICIPATION
Wendell actively promotes and supports participation, involvement of all Staff and Contractors in Occupational Health and Safety and Environmental matters and undertakes to promote and foster a ‘culture of safety’ that will encourage the on-going effort to improve both safety performance and conformance.

The organisation will ensure that all Health and Safety information is readily available.

If either the Employer or Employees have any safety concerns that cannot be resolved immediately, both parties will act in good faith to achieve a resolution satisfactory to all involved.

Wendell expects all staff and Contractors to actively participate in the systematic identification and reporting of hazards whenever and wherever they occur.

Wendell will require the recording and subsequent investigation of all significant accidents / incidents that result in injury to individuals or damage to plant and equipment. The organisation requires also the recording and investigation of all significant ‘near miss’ incidents.

Wendell will ensure that appropriate standards for safety are incorporated into design and procurement specifications and that task analysis is an integral part of all work.

EMERGENCY RESPONSE
Emergency Response Plans designed to minimise the risk to people, environment and assets in the event of a crisis, will be subjected to on-going review and assessment.

USE OF VEHICLES
As a responsible employer, Wendell actively supports and promotes a safe driving culture and expects all those connected with the organisation to act responsibly too.

While undertaking any work for or on behalf of Wendell, the Company requires the safe and sensible use of both Company and Contractors vehicles and expects professional conduct at all times, irrespective of the vehicle type, purpose or location.

REHABILITATION
Wendell undertakes to support and encourage the safe and speedy return to work of injured employees.
